Fall 2017 Internship Opportunities

What We Are Looking For

The Right to Immigration Institute (TRII) is seeking two part-time unpaid interns for the Fall 2017 semester. Interns will be expected to work approximately 10-15 hours per week from the location of their choosing. Interns must maintain contact with program directors on a weekly basis. These opportunities are ideal for those interested in immigration, law, or nonprofit work.

Development Intern

The development intern will be involved in all aspects of the grant application cycle from research to the final proposal. In the first few weeks, the intern will receive assistance from the program director on the best methods of grantseeking.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Research local foundations with a focus on immigration

  • Participate in drafting and editing grant proposals

  • Work with the program director on outreach to foundations

  • Manage the donation webpage


Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will help maintain the organization’s social media presence, as well as keep the organization’s website up to date with current events.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active presence on Facebook and Twitter

  • Write weekly blog posts on an immigration issue of their choosing

  • Update website with staff information and event information as needed

  • Table at events in the Waltham area
